We’ve been discussing eBooks in the Cooking with Steam kitchen over the past few weeks.
Background… as many of you may know, we published our first ever Combi Steam Oven recipe cookbook back in June 2017. (DEMYSTIFIED – STEAM & COMBI OVEN RECIPES FOR HOME COOKS). We specifically wanted the cookbook to be a high quality hardcover book as we felt that an eBook wouldn’t ‘do it justice’. We made the call for ‘physical only’ and to this day, an ‘electronic’ eBook version has never been made available.
One of the biggest barriers of getting the book into the hands of combi steam oven owners around the world is the high price of postage. Within Australia, it costs over $15.00 to send a copy of the book. When shipping Internationally, postage charges skyrocket to over $50.00. This ultimately means the price of postage is more than the book itself. Suffice to say… we receive a lot of inquiries asking whether an eBook version of ‘Demystified’ can be made available. Whilst we take a never-say-never approach to all things, for the time being, the answer to that question is no… certainly for the time being anyway.
What we are discussing at present, is whether we should issue some smaller ‘topical’ eBooks and make these available to purchase from our publishing website ‘www.steamahead.com.au’. We’re leaning towards ‘yes’ being the answer…. so keep an eye out for more news in coming weeks.
